Hopetown is a school for girls with a vision to develop a generation of Indian girls into confident, creative women with a voice and spirit that will make a difference to the world we live in today. The school’s philosophy encourages positivity, happiness and camaraderie.
Thinking diversely, risk taking, expressing views and sensitivity to human issues is developed consciously through programs in the curriculum. Our girls are encouraged to think independently – even if they dissent from public opinion.
The community also believes that the world is interconnected. That whatever we might do will affect the immediate community of Hopetown, the society we live in and the world at large. Our program for social sensitivity is flexible to the passions of our girls. If they feel they want to explore and support the needs of disabled children, or natural disaster ridden regions or the educational needs of the needy segments of society or animals and birds – we encourage them to follow their hearts. The most important thing for us is that they contribute positively to a cause they believe in.
Our academic program encourages our girls to explore issues and subjects in an integrated way. Our senior students research their ISC and ICSE Projects for all subjects with the aim of stimulating their understanding of their subjects. We teach them to be honest and exploratory and aware of intellectual dishonesty. Our teachers are trained adequately to meet the requirements of the CISCE Board examinations and best academic practices worldwide.
The Middle School Program takes the CISCE/CIE regulations seriously. Teachers are required to ensure that what they teach makes sense in the practical world. We are also subscribed to the ISA (International School Award of the British Council) which insists that our program is innovative, practical and in sync with the finest educational systems in the world.
Hopetown encourages the development of the arts and design. We have a very strong Performing Arts tradition with a vibrant theatre culture and an outstanding orchestra. Fine art, sculpture, pottery, tapestry and weaving are introduced to the girls at a very early age and many go on to choose design as a career.
Our technology program is very advanced. Hopetown is a WI-FI school that encourages positive use of technology. The girls are trained to use social networking sites with caution. We have a Cyber Crime team that is trained by experts and holds sessions of training not just for the Hopetown community, but for the neighbouring schools as well.
The sports progam focusses on health, primarily – but we do have passionate footballers and national level swimmers, basketballers and athletes. The physical and mental health and safety of girls and the community is top priority.
We are a school well on its way to developing a strong generation of Indian women!
