IAYP Silver Trek – Nag Tibba
The International Award for Young People Silver Trek
Our students of Grades 10 and 12 went to Nag Tibba. (Serpent’s Peak) This is the highest peak in the lesser Himalayan region of Uttarakhand state (Garhwal Division). The students learnt that water is a scarce commodity in this region. The trail was rather steep but with the encouragement of our teachers and determination by our students they were able to do it!!!
Treks like these enhance self-confidence and boost levels of energy. Exploring various places especially those surrounded by nature always trigger a way to absorb life skills through experiences.
Nature’s impact on the well being of human learning abilities has been defined well by Robert Louis Stevenson.
“It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanates from the trees that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.”
