Inter-House Competition
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller
Inter House Competitions are a very important part of school life. Hopetown has a rich tradition in the Performing Arts and students have the opportunity to engage themselves in a range of activities from Hindustani music, Indian classical dancing, folk dancing, western music, and miming.
They say everyone loves a winner, so musicians, like athletes, spend an inordinate amount of time preparing to outperform the competition. There’s no scoreboard or balance sheet. Musicians leave their progress lingering in the air to hear every time they perform.
Staff facilitates these events but students at Hopetown are encouraged to take the lead in management and organisation. Inter-House competitions teach children the value of teamwork and how to be gracious in both victory and defeat. It was a pleasure to see so many children enthusiastic and practicing every moment of the day for this event.
For the teams who were preparing this experience provided exciting opportunities to showcase their talent.
The Overall Music Trophy was bagged by Diamond House and Sapphire House bagged the Overall Dance Trophy.
